Candles from the Luxury Paris-based company Diptyque are so popular in the fashion and design worlds that the brand has become the undisputed leader of the luxury candle market, worth billions of pounds. Expanding into homewares, fragrance and skincare over the last few years has seen the brand grow into new markets and territories.
However, it was clear that technology was holding them back, constrained by unsupported, disjointed and manual systems, they recognised it was time to change.
As part of a larger group, the owner’s vision was to align the organisation and simply connect the subsidiaries across the world with a common business solution. With Microsoft Dynamics NAV (now known as Business Central) they were actually able to do so much more, connecting Retail, Wholesale, Warehousing and Sales to provide a robust digital foundation to unleash real business potential.

Dynavics set about getting under the skin of the business, connecting with the core management team and end users, to discover how the current business processes worked and the critical issues which were holding them back from taking the business to the next level.
Using the tried and tested workshop methodology, time zone, geographies and language challenges melted away, as the Dynavics team, mapped the business needs to the right technological solution.
It soon became clear that the business was exposed to significant risk, with each location using different versions of Sage accounting, and being heavily reliant on one IT specialist within the organisation. The Sage systems were old, incompatible and restrictive. Comparison and analysis of data was impossible without manual manipulation in Excel, which was time consuming and hard to trust after various rounds of manual data entry.
Implementing the scoped solution, which consisted of Microsoft Dynamics NAV, together with the Demand Planning tool from AGR, Jet Reports & Qlikview for reporting. Using built-in intelligence to forecast sales has enabled them to find the perfect balance between demand and supply. Taking back control of there reporting, empowered decision makers across the business.
As part of the project we created an extranet site for wholesalers to place orders directly into the system, to be picked, packed, shipped and invoiced seamlessly. A far cry from the emails sent between departments before Dynavics came along.
